Four Malibu locals — Morgan Perlmuter, Holly Maine, Spencer Regan and Ben Tran — were accepted to the 2016 USA Lifesaving Under 19 High Performance Squad (HPS).
The HPS was created for youth open water athletes between the ages of 14 and 18 who are interested in improving their aquatic competition skills with the goal of being selected to the USA Lifesaving U19 National Team. National teams will participate at the Rescue 2016 World Championships in the Netherlands this September.
HPS athletes from across Southern California attended a two-day training camp in Orange County on Dec. 5 to prepare them for a spot on the National Team.
