The Malibu Optimist Club recently met to receive an update of the activities of the Optimist Youth Home in Los Angeles from its director, Sil Orlando.
The Malibu Optimist Club, which donated $500 to the Youth Home at the meeting, shares ownership of it with other Optimist clubs in Southern California. The Youth Home houses about 100 young men sent there by the Los Angeles court system.
The home includes a state accredited high school and provides counseling services for its young residents.
The Youth Home also services about 400 additional young men and women in foster care and transitional housing.
