At the same time that the state is facing a budget crisis, and the Governor is proposing an insurance policy surcharge for residents living in the Santa Monica Mountains area to pay for fire protection, isn’t it ironic that Joe Edmiston and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy is trying to spend millions of our taxpayer dollars to increase the fire risk by promoting overnight camping in those very same areas.
