Protesting in style

Malibu made national and international headlines again this week, this time for all the local celebrities who attended the Paddle-Out Protest against the proposed LNG terminals to be moored off our coast. But the real unsung heroes of the event were the scores of local volunteers, both adult and children, who generously gave their time, energy and services to make it all happen. The Sunday event brought hundreds of locals to the Malibu Pier, some for the first time ever, to meet and greet, prepare and serve breakfast, drum and dance, build sand castles and finally join arms together in an enormous floating circle in the sea at Surfrider Beach. Thanks to all for coming together in this inspiring community event.
