Malibu High School has been ranked in the top one percent of high schools nationwide by US News and World Report, earning a “gold medal” from the group. Out of about 22,000 schools across the country, Malibu High came in at number 265. In California, the school ranked 52nd. The report says the school’s Advanced Placement participation rate is 71 percent and it achieves the state goal for standardized test scores.
Another nearby school to make the list was Westlake High School, which ranked 59th in the state and 307th in the country.
