Boys water polo: The team began its bid for a CIF championship on Thursday against Savannah High School. The Sharks cruised to victory, 16-4. Next up was Tustin High School, who the Sharks beat in a close 11-9 contest. The boys now move to the CIF semifinals against Beaumont High School this week on Wednesday.

Girls tennis: The Sharks began their CIF playoff run with a close 10-8 win over Poly (Long Beach). However, the league champions then fell in their second round match-up against Sage Hill, 12-6. With a majority of the starters returning next season, the girls look forward to a successful 2012.

Girls volleyball: The team lost 3-1 in the opening match of the CIF playoffs against Desert High School on Nov. 9. The girls placed second in the league, and return all but one starter to next year’s squad. The future looks bright for this Sharks team.

Cross country: The girls and boys competed in the CIF Preliminaries on Saturday at Mount Sac. Although the team did not perform as well as they would have liked to do, they took this as a learning experience for their younger runners and a proper send off for their senior runners. Sara Mohr and Zach Hamilton, both seniors, were named first team all-league runners this season.
