The following incidents were reported between 9/18 – 11/17:

9/18

Keep watch

Deputies responded to a grand theft on Escondido Road in Malibu. An estimated $880 in cash, the master key to a home and gate entrance and a pocket watch were stolen from inside a home. The victims told the deputies multiple people entered their home but they believed the healthcare giver who was recently in their home stole their belongings. The pocket watch was estimated to be worth $25,000.

Gun grab

A 22-caliber revolver handgun was stolen from an RV parked on Pacific Coast Highway near Las Tunas Beach. The victim said he was at the hospital and, upon return, realized his vehicle was broken into and ransacked. The victim said two bicycles and a china doll were also stolen. The damages were estimated to cost $1,200. A witness told deputies she saw five male suspects enter the vehicle and remove the bicycles from the RV rack. The witness yelled at the suspects to leave the vehicle; however, the witness was afraid to approach the suspects. The witness described the suspects to be between the ages of 30 and 40 years old.

Beauty store burglary

Deputies responded to a burglary call at a beauty store in Cross Creek Road. The victim said the suspects used a verbal argument to distract the sales clerk while another suspect placed multiple items in her purse. The suspect stole an estimated $1,596 worth of cosmetics.

Card caper

A vehicle parked on Tapia Drive in Malibu was broken into and ransacked. A wallet containing miscellaneous credit cards and $550 in cash was stolen from the glove department. The victim was later notified that his credit card was used at a Chevron gas station in Agoura Hills for $50. The victim immediately closed his account.

Lock picked

A portable generator was stolen from a property on Latigo Canyon Road in Malibu. The victim said the generator was located in the west side of the property and was chained and secured with a combination lock. The gate lock was still attached but the victim believes the generator was taken by someone who knows the combination. The generator was estimated to be worth $449.

11/17

Car crime

An Apple iPad, a suitcase and miscellaneous clothing were stolen from inside a vehicle parked on Malibu Road near Corral Canyon Park. The victim said there were no signs of forced entry and was unsure how the suspects entered his vehicle. The belongings were estimated to be worth $1,903.
