A deck caught fire in Latigo Canyon on May 19, but firefighters were able to put it out before it spread.
LA County Firefighters were dispatched to Mar Vista and Ocean View drives at 4:07 p.m. after receiving three separate reports of a propane tank and a tree burning, a brush fire and a structure fire, according to County Fire Inspector Tony Akins.
Firefighters were dispatched as a first alarm brush fire, which was later canceled and labeled as a structure fire.
The fire occurred on an outside deck that measured approximately 20’ by 50’ and nearby palm trees, and it was out by 4:41 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene for a couple of hours mopping up after the fire was extinguished.
