Contributor Cynthia Kesselman tell us that the City Council “just sanctioned four stadium lights generating 1,500 megawatts each.”
First of all, electrical lights don’t generate power, they consume power. Secondly, the total of 6,000 megawatts, she claims, is three times the generating capacity of Hoover Dam.
It seems unlikely that we would need three Hoover Dams to power some stadium lights.
