City Council is calling for qualified applicants to represent the city on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee.

The Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy helps to steward and preserve the Santa Monica Mountains. According to the Conservancy’s website, “ A 26-member Advisory Committee meets jointly with the Conservancy and offers citizens the opportunity for even greater participation.”

The position is currently vacant.

“[The previous commissioner] has been Jeff Jennings for the past couple of years,” said Mayor Pro Tem John Sibert, “he’s indicated commission fatigue, and so he’s asked to see if they could, the council could find a replacement.”

Possible replacements will be discussed and voted on during Council’s Dec. 8 meeting.
