CineMalibu to show 'Jurassic Park'

The City of Malibu will start the ninth season of CineMalibu, a free event series that sets up movie screenings in Bluffs Park, with a screening of “Jurassic Park” and a fun-filled ‘Dinosaur Adventure’ on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m.

With dinosaur activities for kids, including an archaeological dig and dinosaur tattoos, Mexican food catered by the Escuela Taqueria, and a thrilling, action-packed film on the big screen, CineMalibu plans to create an event that is “family-friendly and free for all,” according to a release by the City of Malibu’s Recreation Supervisor Kristin Riesgo.

The perfect prequel to this summer’s blockbuster “Jurassic World,” the 1993 film “Jurassic Park” is scheduled to begin at sunset.

CineMalibu has welcomed residents and visitors to its free movies series since 2006. Riesgo encourages people to “arrive early and bring chairs” as seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Alcohol is prohibited on the park grounds in order to ensure the safety of the Malibu community.

The season will continue with screenings of the children’s movie “Harry and the Hendersons” on July 25 and the animated classic “Toy Story” on August 29.
