From September to March each year, entire families of dolphins and whales are ruthlessly driven into Taiji’s infamous killing cove.
These sentient creatures are slowly and tortuously murdered.
The finest specimens are isolated, captured and sold to dolphinariums – a horrid life of captivity.
According to London-based Environmental Investigation Agency, more than one million whales, dolphins and porpoises have been massacred off Japan. Shockingly, the Japanese government is knowingly allowing the sale of meat and blubber from these top marine predators that exceeds 85 times the safe limits for consumption of methyl mercury and 140 times the safe limit for polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).
It’s time for Japan to end this blood-thirsty war against highly intelligent mammals that intend us no harm.
