Victoria Lavan, a member of the music faculty at Pepperdine University, will offer a show called “Glitter and Be Gay: A Tribute to Barbara Cook” on Fridays and Saturdays, at 8 p.m., from May 2-31. Performances will take place at the El Portal/Circle Theatre, 5269 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood.
During the 80-minute retrospective, Lavan will perform many of the songs made famous by Broadway legend Barbara Cook. Included will be songs by Irving Berlin, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Rodgers and Hart and many others. Lavan has performed throughout the West in operas, oratorios, concerts and musicals.
