Author Tom Robbins Appearing in Malibu

    Yes, Tom Robbins is coming to DIESEL in Malibu on Thursday June 19th!  We couldn’t believe it when the publisher said yes to our request for him to come to Malibu!  So, in our excitement we’ve decided to start up a Tom Robbins Book Group in anticipation of his arrival.  Our first book: Even Cowgirls Get the Blues.  Classic Tom Robbins, this is the brilliant and hysterical tale of large-thumbed Sissy Hankshaw’s wild adventures.  It may be THE iconic novel of  ‘70’s American culture.  It is a fun read, or re-read, and discussions promise to be hilarious.  The first Tom Robbins Book Group, discussing Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, will meet Wednesday May 7th at 6pm.  (To sign up for the Book Group email us at Malibu@dieselbookstore.com, or call us at 310.456.9961.)

    Our second book will be Robbins’ latest memoir Tibetan Peach Pie: A True Account of an Imaginative Life.  The book pubs on May 27th and we will begin reading it as soon as it comes out.
