Malibu local and acting legend Dick Van Dyke was awarded the first Legends Events Lifetime Achievement Award during a special ceremony celebrating the unique Disney fan club that supports the legacy of Walt Disney.
“It’s a Jolly Holiday with Dick Van Dyke” was presented at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Resort, featuring performances by the original Mickey Mouse Club Mouseketeers, Dick Van Dyke with both his acapella group The Vantastix and Disney songwriting legend Richard Sherman accompanying on the piano for a rendition of “Let’s Go Fly a Kite.”
All silent auction proceeds benefited the Walt Disney Birthplace restoration project.
