Chris and Pax Prentiss, co-founders of Passages Malibu, recently donated $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Malibu Teen Center. The money will go directly to a new building to enlarge the Malibu Foundation for Youth and Families-owned facility behind Malibu High School.

“The Prentiss family understands the power that a positive social environment can have on the lives of Malibu teenagers and wants to make sure that our facilities can handle as many teens as possible at our current site,” said Keith Brown, Malibu Foundation president. “We are bursting at the seams with our 450 members, but thanks to this amazing gift we will be able to provide new Boys and Girls Club programs and extend our outreach.”

Construction will begin this summer, with a community grand opening to take place sometime in the fall.

Malibu Foundation President-elect Daniel Stern said, “We would like to see a commitment to our youth and families in every development project that passes through city planning. We as a community can create and implement a vision that puts our youth as a top priority with a partnership between the public and private sectors. The Prentiss gift is the beginning of a new chapter in this vision. With the talent and the resources we have, Malibu should be a proud leader in providing the best youth facilities and programs in the country.”
