The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station will conduct a DUI checkpoint in Malibu Saturday night from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m. According to a release from the station, the checkpoint will take place “at an undisclosed location within the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County within the Malibu/Santa Monica Mountains Recreation Area.”
Officers will be checking drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. They will also be making sure drivers are properly licensed.
The checkpoint was funded by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky through the “Operation Safe Canyons Program.”
