A man was taken into custody for driving his car into two parked cars on Pacific Coast Highway near Zuma Beach Sunday night, May 12.

“It is believed that this was caused due to intoxication,” Lt. Jennifer Seetoo with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said. “The driver—basically, the suspect—hit two parked cars that had occupants inside those vehicles.”

The collision was reported at approximately 8:23 p.m., according to another deputy.

Both victims, who were in the parked cars when the incident occurred, were sent to nearby hospitals. One of them had to be airlifted. Seetoo confirmed both remain in critical condition.

It is unclear if any others were in the two vehicles at the time. A dog was in the suspect’s vehicle at the time.

The suspect, who has so far been identified as an adult man, suffered minor injuries. He is in police custody at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
