This weekend in Canyon Country a driver under the influence hit a group of bicyclists and killed one and then fled the scene. He was captured and his bail is set at $1.1 million. He is charged with murder. He sits in jail. A week or so ago, a Malibu City Clerk did the same thing-killed a dad on a bicycle, hit and run, under the influence, search dogs deployed at taxpayer expense. His bail was only $100,000. He is out, still at work and has not been charged with anything. Curious. At the very least, the Malibu clerk should be on administrative leave without pay.
