Dorothy Hillel Kagon died Oct. 7 at her home in Malibu. She was 90.
A Malibu resident since 1966, Kagon was a professional designer, painter, world traveler and gourmet cook. She was born and raised in New York. Kagon studied with the Bauhaus masters while a student at Pratt Institute of Technology.
She was married to Malibu activist David Kagon, who died in 2008, for 67 years and is survived by her children, Jane and Robert and grandchildren Aaron and Jacob.
