It’s not often that the two of us join together at election time to support the same candidate. However, this year’s election for the Santa Monica/Malibu Unified School District Board of Education is very important because we stand to lose our Malibu representation on the board. Fortunately, an extremely qualified candidate from Malibu is running for one of the board seats. Her name is Kathy Wisnicki and we want you to join us in supporting her for School Board.
Kathy has lived in Malibu with her husband and two children for eight years. During that time she has been PTA president, award winner (2003 Dolphin Award, District PTA Honorary Service Award), successful campaign co-chair (Save our Schools) and education advocate and lobbyist. She is also currently the Malibu representative on the School District’s Financial Oversight Committee.
Her endorsements cover a broad spectrum and include the Santa Monica/Malibu Classroom Teachers Association, the entire Malibu City Council, Pat Cairns, Laure Stern, School Board member Mike Jordan, the Malibu Democratic Club, Community for Excellent Public Schools, Assemblymember Fran Pavley, the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce and many other prominent business, community and educational leaders.
Kathy has been a determined and dedicated advocate for all children. She has a terrific relationship with the entire City Council that is a definite advantage for both the city and school district. She is experienced, hardworking, balanced and genuine-the best choice for SMMUSD School Board. Our current Malibu member is retiring and Kathy is the only Malibu resident running for a seat on the board.
Malibu must have a representative on the School Board who is able to represent our specific needs and interests as well as promoting the needs of all the children of the district. We must unite behind Kathy, a proven educational leader. Please join us in voting for Kathy Wisnicki for School Board.
