Two Southern California Edison contract employees were injured yesterday day when a utility pole came down in the eastern San Fernando Valley.

The two men went down with the pole in Lopez Canyon … east of Lake View Terrace.

One lineworker was airlifted to a hospital.

Edison in a statement said the other worker was taken to a medical facility as well.

The extent of their injuries was not released by the Edison Company.

Newspapers across the state are writing articles about the failure of Southern California Edison to have followed the law in terms of preparing for wildfires.

And the problem sits at the California Public Utilities Commission … which has ignored for two years a law that requires power companies to publicly file their plans to reduce the risk …

One of the many lawsuits being filed against Southern California Edison over the Woolsey Fire has been filed by the family and company that operates Malibu Wine Safaris and Malibu Wines.

in the lawsuit … Malibu Wines says employees worked through the night in order to lead more than 100 animals to a relatively safe and open pasture area in order to survive the fire.

They claim the efforts to save the animals were made in lieu of saving their own material possessions.

Malibu Wines says the wild animal park and winery had offered an experience to tourists … an experience that is now “destroyed.”

Te fire has also aprked animal rights activists to demand that Malibu Wines send Stanley The Giraffe to some sort of animal sanctuary.

Stanley and other exotic animals rode out the fire in a grassy pasture and were apparently not harmed by the fire.
