The National Park Service is conducting two public scoping meetings for a joint environmental assessment for an invasive plant management plan for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and Redwood National Park. The meetings will take place Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.
The invasive plant management plan’s applicability to the SMMNRA will be emphasized at the meetings, according to a release from the NPS. The project’s “purpose, need, objectives and preliminary alternatives” will be discussed. Additionally, NPS staff will answer questions from the public about the environmental assessment.
The first meeting takes place Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 403 Hillcrest Dr., in Thousand Oaks, at 6:30 p.m. The second meeting takes place Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Temescal Gateway Park’s Woodland Hall, 15601 Sunset Blvd. in Pacific Palisades, at 6:30 p.m.
