Captain Joe Yturralde was honored as a Firefighter of the Year at the Ventura County Fire Department’s annual Awards Ceremony on Feb. 28 in Oxnard. Yturralde, a Camarillo resident, serves at Battalion 5, which provides firefighting services to Malibu.
Five firefighters, one from each Ventura County battalion, were awarded at the event. Other department personnel and civilians were also honored.
