On June 3, in the Democratic Primary Election, we Democratic voters have the opportunity to return Fran Pavley to the State Legislature as the Democratic candidate for our State Senate District. Her outstanding record of serving the people of Malibu and her entire Assembly District for six years from 2000 through 2006 justifies her return to the office of State Senator.
Her main claims to fame are two noteworthy environmental bills that she sponsored that were signed into law by a Democratic and a Republican governor. She also sponsored dozens of bills that aided children and their education which were then signed into law by both governors. This shows her ability to achieve bipartisan success. It is an understatement to say that she is an effective legislator.
Her opponent claims effectiveness by alluding to bills he “authored” but very few made it out of the Legislature. He has attempted to smear Fran Pavley by distorting the identities of some of her contributors and claiming they have “right wing” credentials. Nothing could be further from the truth as Pavley has always relied on numerous small amount contributors who believe in her integrity and the causes she champions.
Democrats, please vote for Fran Pavley and return an effective legislator to Sacramento. She will serve all the people of Malibu and this Senate District and all of the people of California.
