Nicolas Eatery will take over the former Thai Dishes space.

Caffe Luxxe will have a new neighbor by the end of summer: French restaurant Nicolas Eatery. The restaurant replaces Thai Dishes, which has been closed for several years.

According to its description on the Malibu Chamber of Commerce website, Nicolas Eatery is a “fast casual restaurant featuring regional produce in a very relax[ed] and welcoming atmosphere.” Nicolas Fanucci, former general manager of Bouchon Bistro in Yountville, Calif., is listed as the owner.

In the meantime, Fanucci has been hosting “pop up” meals, featuring selections made by his three boys that may be featured on the Nicolas Eatery menu. These selections include various salads, marinated chicken cutlet, beet and fennel-cured salmon, skirt steak “a la Korean” and more.

According to Eater LA, the restaurant hours will be 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily. The restaurant itself hopes to have a rooftop bar and has submitted an application to sell beer and wine.
