A woman was found dead in the ocean near Mugu Rock in Ventura County west of Malibu on Sunday morning after a traffic collision sent her vehicle off the highway, Ventura County Sheriff’s officials confirmed.
The woman has been identified as 57-year-old Beverly Moore of Redondo Beach, according to Deputy Medical Examiner Supervisor James Baroni with the Ventura County Health Care Agency Medical Examiner office.Â
“My understanding was, there was a traffic accident on PCH today and there was a woman found in the ocean,” a V.C. Sheriff’s official said. “It’s a traffic incident; therefore, the California Highway Patrol covers that incident.”
