A small one-acre brush fire erupted off of Topanga Canyon Boulevard on Monday at 4:44 p.m., according to authorities. The fire broke out in Woodland Hills on Topanga at Cezanne Avenue and was threatening nearby homes, according to Los Angeles County Fire Dispatch. Knock down was achieved in under an hour.
More than 70 firefighters were called in for assistance, including Malibu firefighters. Helicopters were also conducting drops on the area.
The fire forced the California Highway Patrol to shut down Topanga Canyon Boulevard from Mulholland Drive to Dumetz, according to Sigalert.
