With a water polo team composed of Malibu High School students and others from nearby high schools, the MHS summer league was co-coached by varsity MHS water polo coach Mike Mulligan, in addition to th e club’s winter and spring coach Gary O’Brien.
The league consisted of weekly games at MHS on Wednesdays and at Agoura High School on Thursdays. Additional tournaments were held on the weekends, including the Santa Monica High three-day, at which MHS placed third, and the final tournament at Oxnard, where MHS took the victory. Up next for MHS water polo players is “Hell Week,” which begins on Aug. 17 and continues for two weeks.
