Sins of omission

The City Council ignored the recommendations of the planning commission to deny the MBC development agreement. What was really galling was their eleventh hour addition of adding Perenchio’s non-permitted, polluting golf course to the deal, so he can hook up to the city’s planned sewage processing plant. Not only did they not advise the planning commission, but they were still fine tuning it at 6:30 p.m. on the night of the council meeting, when they voted to approve it. Not only did the planning commission not have a chance to consider this, but neither did the public, since the printed agreement was not distributed until 7 p.m. of the evening the vote took place. Furthermore, this significant modification ought to require another Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

This is a significant deception and a spectacular enrichment for a singular individual at the expense of the citizens. With this kind of sneaky stuff going on, can you rely on anything the proponents of proposition M say?
