Cherish the Ladies to Perform at Pepperdine

Cherish the Ladies

The Grammy-winning, first all-women Celtic music ensemble, Cherish the Ladies, will come to Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre on March 22 at 8 p.m. 

The group was formed in 1985 to celebrate the rise of women in a formerly male-dominated Irish music scene, and has since traveled the world, recorded 16 albums and performed at the White House and the Olympics.

Under the leadership of All-Ireland flute and whistle champion Joanie Madden, Cherish the Ladies incorporates a blend of instrumental talents, vocals, step dancing into their performances. Joining the ensemble will be fiddler Liz Carroll, vocalists the Ennis sisters, and dancers Garrett Coleman, Julie Fitzgerald and Jason Oremus.
