No reservations about Malibu

I would like to thank the people of Malibu for making me feel welcome over the last two years, while I was attending Pepperdine’s School for Public Policy and living in the Malibu community. I will be graduating at the end of April with my Master’s in Public Policy. Upon graduating I will return home to my family and community on the Hopi Indian reservation in Northern Arizona and begin my job search.

Although I do not know everyone here and it would probably be impossible to do so, I have been treated well by all those I have met. I also know that some people probably have wondered who was the individual wearing the black cowboy hat who drives a maroon pick-up truck with a bumper sticker that reads, “If you don’t like America, give it back to the Indians.” Well, that is me.

You have a beautiful community here that reminds me of the Hopi Village I am from called Kykotsmovi. We are very close and for the most part look out after each other. I will always remember and be fond of Malibu in my future journeys. God bless all of you and may you continue to find peace by taking care of yourselves and families and community.
