
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will honor Malibu resident David Weil and actor Rob Lowe with the 2012 Entertainment Industry Award at the Entertainment Industry Awards Dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Oct. 16. The Entertainment Industry Award is given to individuals based on leadership and innovations in the entertainment industry locally, nationally and internationally, according to a press release.
Malibu local David Weil is the CEO of Anschutz Film Group (AFG) and oversees its two divisions, Walden Media and Bristol Bay Productions. During his time with the group, AFG has produced more than 30 films, including Oscar winners “The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Ray.” Prior to joining the film group, Weil worked as an entertainment lawyer at O’Melveny and Myers for 25 years. Additionally, he has been a member of ADL’s National Entertainment Advisory Council since its inception in 2006.
