Knowles Adkisson, associate editor, tells us that the California Public Utilities Commission will be installing stronger wooden telephone poles in Malibu Canyon. This means they will be adding more fuel to the canyon fires. Why not solve the problem by installing metal poles or undergrounding the power lines? If high voltage electrical power can be sent under the English Channel, it can certainly be sent underground down Malibu Canyon.
