Our Lady of Malibu School hosted a primary election for student council president with a race between James Merrick, Liam Mudd and Jillian Neuner on Sept. 24. The election included a morning assembly with speeches. After hearing the candidates talk, students in the fourth through eighth grades voted in their classrooms.

Neuner and Mudd qualified for the general election, which takes place Oct. 1 and will decide who is president and who is vice president. The remaining student council positions will also be decided at the general election.
