A heatwave will bring hot and dry conditions to Malibu this weekend, with expected temperatures to soar to 89 degrees on Saturday and 86 degrees on Sunday with lows around 67 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Moderate Santa Ana winds and low humidity throughout the weekend will bring into effect red flag warnings and high fire dangers throughout Southern California. Temperatures are expected to reach into the triple digits along coastal valleys.
In addition to the red flag warnings, elevated surf and strong rip currents are expected through the weekend. Surf heights could reach between three and six feet along south-facing beaches. Stay near lifeguard towers and if caught in a rip current, swim parallel to the shore.
