Simple solution, John Mazza mentioned one way, then no one went further. Have Caltrans move the right hand turn onto Webb Way. All northwards traffic pass Cross Creek Road and turn right on to Webb Way. There is a lot of room for a right hand turn, plus the City owns that empty lot if they need more space. Then, make another turn on Civic Center Drive, go past the library and into the Whole Foods parking. All cars exit out to Cross Creek Road. The cars can exit onto PCH either south or northwards.Â
They all go in one direction only.
Bottom line: the trees are saved.
If traffic moves in one direction only, it is smooth and safe. All trucks can deliver this way from Malibu Canyon or PCH. All cars enter Whole Foods from one direction only and exit in one direction only. This frees up the congestion at Webb Way. Too many people on foot and too many cars between the two shopping areas.
The trees are saved.
