The National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag Warning” for areas including Malibu effective until 11 p.m. Friday night. The warning states that scattered thunderstorm activity will produce dry lightning, and that with dry conditions and 40 mile per hour winds, any strikes will be capable of igniting a fire. Residents are advised to keep an eye out for any smoke and immediately call 911 if any is seen.
