A benefit memorial concert will be held on Sept. 11 to honor firefighters. The event will feature guests like ‘80s rock band A Flock of Seagulls as well as speakers such as Lou Gossett Jr. and Dr. Stephen Johnson. The organizer, FireFighters Down, helps firefighters overcome both physical and mental difficulties that stem from the strenuous job.
The event will be held in Smothers Theatre at Pepperdine University (24255 Pacific Coast Highway). Tickets are $35 and doors open at 6:30 p.m. The benefit concert will also be livestreamed online.
