Conductor of the LA Philharmonic, Gustavo Dudamel

It is amazing that The Los Angeles Philharmonic is celebrating 100 years on Oct. 24, 2019!

The LA “Phil” celebration is a very special, one-of-a-kind birthday with three conductors: Gustavo Dudamel, Zubin Mehta and Esa-Pekka Salonen, all standing and conducting a wonderful very special performance.

The evening begins with Conductor Emeritus Zubin Metha leading the orchestra with Ravel’s “La Valse,” a wonderful waltz that, sadly, marks the end of a “bygone” era.

The once-in-a-lifetime gala includes in the evening’s event: Wagner’s “Overture from Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”; Lutoslawski’s “Symphony No. 4” (LA Phil commission); Stravinsky’s “The Firebird Suite” and a very, very special world premiere for three conductors—Daniel Bjarnason’s “From Space I saw Earth.”

There are gala packages for this event that includes a private pre-concert reception, special premium seats and a great dinner and other special things that celebrate the 100th year!
