A fundraiser is taking place Thursday to help raise money to offset the medical expenses Logan Nobriga’s family faces with starting another two years of aggressive chemotherapy and treatment for his acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
The event is being put on by 4 Malibu Real Estate Partners and Malibu Beach Wines. Sponsors include The Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, Portfolio Escrow Inc. and Malibu Vineyards.
“We are proud to be a member of the family-oriented Malibu community who takes care of their own,” Bobby Lehmkuhl of 4 Malibu Real Estate said.
Logan Nobriga, son of longtime Geoffrey’s bartender Justin Nobriga, was diagnosed with ALL when he was eight years old in Sept. of 2009. After 40 months of treatment, they believed the cancer was gone.
Logan’s mother noticed an abnormality in April and doctors soon confirmed that the leukemia had returned. Logan is in the third grade and said his hero is Tia Maria Torres from the TV show “Pit Bulls and Parolees,” his favorite athlete is Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia, and he likes pizza, barbecue ribs and cheesecake.
The fundraiser is taking place Oct. 24 at 4 Malibu Real Estate, 22775 Pacific Coast Hwy. from 4 to 7 p.m.
