In its second away game of October, the Pepperdine women’s soccer team wrapped things up with 2-0 win against the Portland Pilots last Sunday, Oct. 28.
Senior Hailey Harbison made the first goal—her first of the season and third of her career—through a penalty kick. Less than 20 minutes later, her teammate, sophomore Brie Welch, made another goal and solidified the Waves’ win on the Pilots’ senior day.
Coach Tim Ward, in an online statement, said in part: “We’re defending really well. We’re 9-1-2 in the last 12 games and that’s not easy. Hopefully we’re making a case for ourselves for the NCAA Tournament, we have to be one of the most in-form teams in the country right now.”
The team is ranked in the top three in West Coast Conference play, per Pepperdine Athletics. Their next game against San Diego on Nov. 3 will confirm their ranking. The game marks senior day for the Waves, and will take place at home.
