Loosen up

I was delighted and am grateful for the photograph of the beautiful, intelligent and talented young lady whose photograph graced the front page of The Malibu Times [June 18]. She represents the future of America with her ideals of equality, individuality and freedom of choice, which we hold dear of our American agenda of expanding freedoms.

I am perplexed by the logic of Ms. Tellem that the photo was “superfluous” because it did not reflect the accompanying unpleasant news items or that the beautiful Malibu resident young lady is not the daughter of the publisher. Logic please, Ms. Tellem. Would Ms. Tellem have been pleased had there been a photograph of a chronically complaining, problem-searching, grouchy sourpuss shrew?

If so, and if Mr. York were to accommodate, I would commence to exercise deep thought and expanded imagination and hopefully be able to kindly offer the name of such a candidate. However, as it is, let us residents devote an hour each day to loosen up and smile. If it is impossible to smile, then face a mirror and try.
