Alberto Perusset, long time Malibu resident and one of the directors of the Malibu Marathon earlier this month, competed in his first barefoot marathon at the Camarillo Marathon. It was his 40th marathon overall.

Perusset, who is a marathon coach for the Road Runners Club of America and the Natural Running Network, said, “I have being running barefoot for the past six months and it has many benefits like zero injuries and is a more natural way to run.”

His regular daily training includes running six miles at the Malibu High School track during the week and 19 miles on weekends along Pacific Coast Highway from County Line to the end of Zuma Beach.
