Filmmaker Kate Schermerhorn, who grew up in Malibu, shooting her latest documentary “After Happily Ever After,” which premieres Sunday. 

Former Malibu resident Kate Schermerhorn’s new film, “After Happily Ever After,” a movie about modern marriage, is premiering Feb. 10 on PBS World Channel’s America Reframed series. 

The one-hour documentary focuses on an eclectic mix of couples and features insights from marriage experts. The film also examines questions about marriage today, including what motivates Americans to marry when so many marriages end in divorce. 

Born in New York, Schermerhorn moved to Malibu as a child and attended Webster Elementary School and Malibu Park Junior High School. She now resides near San Francisco.
