Local running legend and Malibu Runners Club member Alberto Perusset completed the 100th marathon of his career at the Ventura Marathon on Sept. 13. He finished the race in a time of five hours and 35 minutes.
Perusset is also known as “Barefoot Alberto” because he has run 61 of his 100 marathons barefoot.
Along with his own training, Perusset works as a marathon coach and is one of the directors of the Malibu Half Marathon that will take place on Nov. 15.
Even though he’s reached 100 marathons, Perusset has no plans of stopping. The Oct. 11 Long Beach Marathon is coming up next on his calendar.
“Now, I’m going for 200,” he said.
