To improve and correct an earlier published letter (Oct.23) I offer: the loyal, tax paying citizens of this great state of California expect and deserve the best. The taxpayers include homosexuals, people with big ears, people who own old cars and neglect to care for them, people with runny noses, bisexuals, divinely inspired devout churchgoers, little people and others, all who have been taught and hopefully inspired by that iconic American act of throwing tea off that ship in Boston Harbor to protest taxation without representation.
The sanctity of marriage has remained intact despite the many centuries of abuse by those who committed themselves to the sanctity and then abandoned it. Any man or woman who feels that the sanctity of his or her marriage is threatened by any out-of-his-or-her home event would be better served by seeking marriage counseling rather than by obstructing the ongoing progress of bestowing equality to every citizen.
The guide on how to vote would be better sought, not by scanning the blue yonder seeking answers, but rather by going to the library. Read a copy of that magnificent document composed with the unsurpassed collective intelligence of those brilliant men. Paragraph two begins: “We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
