The Malibu Library Speaker Series will continue with a screening of the environmental documentary “Sonic Sea” on Wednesday, May 11.
Produced by the Natural Resources Defense Council, “Sonic Sea” reveals the devastating impact of industrial and military ocean noise on whales and other sensitive marine life. The documentary is narrated by Rachel McAdams and features Sting, as well as marine biologists Dr. Sylvia Earle, Dr. Paul Spong, Dr. Christopher Clark and Jean-Michel Cousteau.
“Sonic Sea” recently won the Environmental Award at the 2016 San Francisco International Film Festival, as well as the Jury Award and the John De Graaf Environmental Filmmaking Award at the 2016 Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
The Malibu Library Speaker Series is a program of the County of Los Angeles Public Library, Malibu Branch and the City of Malibu that features talks by experts on a wide range of subjects, including education, arts, literature, science, sports and more.
