Malibu Times Multimedia Director Julie Ellerton hit the streets this week to ask,“What are you thankful for?”
“I am thankful to God for my family and friends and for my life in Malibu. The events of these past weeks were truly awful. I hope we as a country find the courage and resolve to eliminate this threat to freedom and deliver peace once again. I am thankful for the United States of America.”
“First, I’m thankful for health. But I’m also sad — my prayer has been shortened down to ‘Dear Lord, may we have peace on earth and good will toward men. We’re tired of war, killing and dying, so please, peace on earth, good will toward men.’ We all want the same things in life — for our families to be well. Let’s come together and work on this.”
“I’m thankful for having a job, five days per week, so I can pay bills. I work at Becker Surfboards.”
“This year, I’m especially thankful for the health of my wife, Joan. Last year at this time, she had a stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma — she was really sick. And now, this Thanksgiving, she’s really in perfect health, so I’m especially grateful for that, as well as all my other blessings.”
