Malibu Resident Wins Santa Barbara Triathlon

Malibu resident Abby Blackwood competed in the Santa Barbara Triathlon on Saturday, Aug. 23. She won first place in her division — Women’s 15-17 — for the Long Course. The three-part course consisted of a one-mile ocean swim, 34-mile bike ride and a 10-mile run. 

Abby is a tenth-grader at Malibu High School. She trained over the summer with Claire McCarty of Malibu Personal Training. This was her first triathlon.
